About Us
Who are we?
The church or assembly consists of a body of Christians who meet together for worship, prayer, Bible study, teaching, preaching and outreach to the community. As the term ‘Christian’ is widely used to describe a variety of beliefs and organisations, we should make it clear that we are ordinary people who seek to follow the teachings of Christ and the pattern of the church defined in the New Testament in the Bible.
What is our History?
In 1956, many of the believers meeting at Panton Hall in Panton Street saw the need for Christian witness on the new Arbury Estate and used the assembly hall and other rooms of the Arbury Junior School for a Sunday School, over 300 strong, and Bible classes each Sunday. A year or so later realised the beginning of a Gospel service on Sunday evenings. Meanwhile, negotiations and plans for a permanent building were taking place. Twenty five of us moved into our present building, then known as Roseford Hall, in June 1959.
What do we believe?
That the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only way by which a holy God could justly forgive guilty sinners and declare them right with Him .
In the unity of all true believers in Christ and the importance of each Christian developing and using the gifts that God has given them for the benefit of others.
